About   the low down on the Real Music Club

Welcome to the Real Music Club. We are the premier roots and acoustic music organisation in Northern Ireland.

Since January 1998 the Real Music Club has been bringing great music to Belfast. Since then, we have averaged in excess of 40 concerts per year.

Our specialty is Americana and we have an affinity with music with roots from the Southern States in the USA. In particular we have a close association with artists from Texas and Tennessee. A large proportion of the artists we promote come from these two States, yet we often work with artists from across the USA & Canada as well as from the UK, Europe & Australia.

Major International artists that we have worked with include Billy Bragg, Steve Earle, Steve Forbert, Tom Russell, Rodney Crowell, Mary Gauthier, Billy Joe Shaver, Tommy Emmanuel, Loudon Wainwright, Janis Ian, Eric Bibb, Kinky Friedman...

We also prioritise the programming of local artists. We have had the pleasure of helping artists such as Ben Glover, Eilidh Patterson & Anthony Toner to develop their Belfast based profile and are proud that all three of these artists called on the Real Music Club to launch their respective albums.

Our main home is the Errigle Inn, the first bar in Belfast to hold an entertainment's license. We have also held concerts at other venues, including, the Ulster Hall, Empire Music Hall & The Black Box as well as hosting the occasional show at venues throughout Northern Ireland. We have also had the privilege of helping to run showcase events for Northern Ireland based artists in Nashville & at SXSW in Austin, Texas.

Tickets for concerts at the RMC are available from Ticketshop at Eason's in Belfast, the venues, and can also be reserved by e-mail at jim@realmusicclub.org. In development is the facility to purchase tickets direct from this site.

The Real Music Club is run by Jim Heaney who has developed a wide range of contacts built up from over 25 years involvement with music. John McCart is our resident MC and our regular sound engineer is Cregan, who looks after the mixing desk at all our concerts in the Errigle Inn and most of our events at other venues.

Over the coming weeks we will be adding new features to the site. These additions will greatly enhance the opportunity for the visitor to interact and engage with the site.
